Computer Engineer | Software Engineering · Distributed Systems · Machine Learning

Computer Engineer from Uruguay with professional experience in backend systems, APIs, SQL and production support, complemented by research in distributed systems and machine learning. I am particularly interested in software engineering, distributed systems, scientific computing and machine learning systems.

I am a Computer Engineer from Universidad de la República (UdelaR), Uruguay.

My professional experience is primarily focused on backend systems, requirements engineering, API integrations, SQL-based data validation, production support and technical coordination.

Alongside my professional work, I developed my undergraduate research project at the intersection of distributed systems and machine learning, implementing and evaluating a heterogeneous Graph Neural Network for latency prediction in microservice-based systems.

I am particularly interested in software engineering, distributed systems, scientific computing, machine learning systems and high-performance computing.

Currently based in Montevideo, Uruguay. EU citizen with an Italian passport and open to relocation.

LQ-GNN Latency Prediction in
Microservice Systems

Undergraduate Research Project — Universidad de la República

Implemented and evaluated a heterogeneous Graph Neural Network for end-to-end latency prediction in microservice-based distributed systems using PyTorch and PyTorch Geometric.

Building on a previously proposed LQ-GNN architecture, my work focused on implementation, reproduction and experimental evaluation in PyTorch / PyTorch Geometric.

The system represents microservice applications as heterogeneous graphs containing task, activity and path nodes, with relation-specific staged message passing.

Implemented custom GRU-based ordered aggregation and attention mechanisms, including sequential processing of activities within execution paths.

Experimental pipeline

  • JSON → PyG HeteroData
  • Data normalization & batching
  • Training & validation
  • Checkpointing & early stopping
